Meet Perry

TEACHES:
Guitar, Bass, Ukulele, and Mandolin

Perry believes that music can be a fun and enriching experience for anyone, regardless of skill level or age. After all, we “play” music, not “work” music.

In addition to teaching, Perry is also a seasoned performer. He has recorded, toured, and performed with regional acts such as Goodwin Rainer, Paid to Pretend, IndYah Rashaud, and Sloth Racer.

During his teenage years, Perry was completely self-taught on bass and guitar. He began studying classical guitar in college under the direction of Dr. Robert Gibson. In 2015, Perry earned his Bachelor of Science in music from Troy University. Perry began teaching private guitar lessons prior to earning his degree at Art’s Music Shop in Dothan, AL.

In 2016, he began teaching at Modern Ensemble Music in Daphne, AL. In addition to teaching multiple instruments, Perry also led various ensembles including Kidzrock and Garageband. Modern Ensemble Music closed in 2020, and Perry began teaching freelance lessons until founding Riff Music Studio in 2021. Several of Perry’s students have gone on to pursue music professionally as performers and recording artists.
